Young Women Honored by the Vermont Women’s Fund with Holly D. Miller Awards

Congratulations to GIV graduate and staffer Jessie-Ruth Corkins, who received the 2012 Holly D. Miller award from the Vermont Women’s Fund. The award honors Jessie-Ruth for using the opportunities provided by  the Governor’s Institute of Vermont’s Engineering Institute to transform her life and the community for the better.  Corkins was recognized as the visionary founder and leader of the award-winning Vermont Sustainable Heating Initiative (VSHI), a student organization that grew out of a Governor’s Institute Winter Weekend that is dedicated to engineering sustainable solutions for cost-effective heating in Vermont.
