A Message from a GIV Alum for Fellow Alumni!

Calling out GIV alumni near and far, with a special message from one of your fellow alumni:

50 donors in 50 days!

I’m an Engineering Institute alum and now a volunteer because GIV changed my life. It helped set me on a path to a successful career in tech. And, just as importantly, it gave me the courage and confidence that comes from seeing peers belong and succeed. I want to make sure today’s Vermont students have access to that same transformative experience.

  • This summer, GIV will welcome nearly 600 young people across 8 Institutes, at a time when demand is higher than ever.
  • In 2026, GIV received a record number of applications, while the cost of running the Institutes continues to rise.
  • Last year alone, GIV awarded $1.1 million in scholarships, with 55% of students coming from low‑income households.
  • Every Vermont student deserves access to these opportunities—no matter where they live or their family’s financial situation.
  • GIV works because alumni step up for the students coming after us.

To help meet this moment, I’m inviting you to join me in supporting GIV by offering a challenge grant of $5,000 if 50 alumni become supporters by June 30.

Your gift helps ensure Vermont high school students can access life‑changing opportunities.
Let’s show today’s students that alumni have their backs – and open doors together, just like someone once did for us.
