A Renewed Call to Support Young Artists

Last year, when the unexpected happened, this community stepped forward in an extraordinary way to support the Governor’s Institute on the Arts (GIA); thank you! Because of donors like you, students experienced a summer filled with artistic exploration, creativity, and most importantly, connection.

This year, the need is even greater. GIV expects to provide more than $313,000 in tuition assistance for GIA students, ensuring that talented young artists from across Vermont can participate regardless of financial circumstances.

Will you make a gift today of $20, $50, or more? Your gift will help a young person experience the magic of GIA this summer.

GIA is far more than a summer program. For two immersive weeks, 150 young artists create, collaborate, take risks, build confidence, and discover new ways of seeing themselves and the world around them.

As one alum described it:

“The thing about GIA is that it’s like a pair of goggles. You put them on as a student, and they fundamentally change the way the world looks… the goggles have helped me see magic and beauty in places I never would have expected.”
— Molly, GIA alum

As program costs continue to rise and more students require financial assistance to attend, we are once again turning to the people who understand just how meaningful GIA can be in a young person’s life.

For many students, GIA is the first place they feel fully immersed in something they care deeply about, surrounded by peers and mentors who challenge and inspire them. Every gift helps open the door for a young person to spend a summer filled with creativity and connection

Thank you for believing in Vermont’s young artists.

With gratitude,
