Teens Focus on Entrepreneurship during the Governor’s Institutes of Vermont

“Teens Focus on Entrepreneurship during the Governor’s Institutes of Vermont,” Shelburne News, June 2014

This July up to 25 Vermont high school students will bring their passion for business, enthusiasm, and thirst for learning to the first Governor’s Institute on Entrepreneurship, where they will spend a week learning about marketing, finance, business planning and more alongside other budding entrepreneurs from around the state.

Hosted at Vermont Technical College, which also hosts the Governor’s Institute on Farms, Food and Your Future, the new Entrepreneurship Institute will allow teenagers who have a business idea or are interested in running a business in the future to begin to develop their toolbox of skills and contacts. Students at the week-long residential program July 5-12 will learn how to identify and seize potential market opportunities, hear in-depth presentations from successful Vermont entrepreneurs, and gain lifelong friends.

A few of the prestigious Governor’s Institutes are still accepting student applications for this summer.  Dates and tuition rates vary based on a sliding scale. Visit www.giv.org for more information on participating this summer, or call GIV at 865-4448.
