Supporter Spotlight: GS Precision

GIV and G.S. Precision Inspire Vermont Students with “Planes & Rockets: A Day at G.S. Precision”

This past fall, GIV hosted a One Day Adventure, Planes & Rockets: A Day at G.S. Precision, in partnership with G.S. Precision, Inc. (GSP) in Brattleboro. G.S. Precision, a Vermont-based aerospace and defense manufacturer, produces complex components for clients worldwide. Students got an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at one of the state’s leading aerospace facilities, exploring hands-on engineering challenges and meeting the professionals who make it happen.

GIV’s One Day Adventures expand access to transformative learning experiences beyond our week-long Summer Institutes. These free, day-long programs allow students to explore career pathways in Engineering, Health & Medicine, Technology & Design, and more. Thanks to the generosity of partners like GSP, students can participate at no cost—a vital opportunity for teens across Vermont.

Planes & Rockets: A Day at G.S. Precision was offered on October 23 and November 6, 2025, giving students the chance to tour high-tech facilities, tackle a real-world engineering case study, and connect with experts in CNC machining, aerospace technology, welding, energy systems, and other STEM fields.

G.S. Precision has long supported GIV’s Engineering Institute. Josh Levasseur, GSP’s Workforce Development Leader, shared: “We’re proud to give students an up-close view of precision manufacturing. Experiences like this ignite curiosity, spark problem-solving skills, and show what’s possible when innovation meets dedication.”

GSP also invests in Vermont’s future workforce through its School of Manufacturing Technology, a paid program where students work 32 hours per week while earning an Associate’s Degree, rotating through machining, engineering, and quality departments. Students can learn more and apply on GSP’s website.

Opportunities like Planes & Rockets give students hands-on experience, spark curiosity, and help them explore careers in engineering, technology, and beyond. Stay tuned for more One Day Adventures in 2025, connecting students with career pathways in Health & Medicine, Civics/Political Science, and Engineering/Manufacturing—all at no cost thanks to generous partners and donors.
